[EN] Currently, there are many victims of partner violence and it is closely linked to emotional dependence. However, very few statistics are found on such factors among partners of the same gender identity. Nevertheless, several studies show a higher prevalence in same gender identity partners. In addition, the beauty standards imposed in recent decades are very strict, so that problems of body dissatisfaction are very common. In order to treat these common difficulties in the population, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy has been shown to be effective. Therefore, the objective of this study is based on the case of a young woman who suffered psychological violence, emotional dependence and body dissatisfaction, in which an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy intervention was carried out. An exhaustive evaluation was conducted before and after the treatment with various questionnaires that reported the differences. The results obtained corroborated previous studies regarding the effectiveness of this therapy. However, it is important to develop future research to show its long-term efficacy.
