Resumen
El objetivo de este trabajo es el estudio de la complejidad de los sintagmas nominales en inglés. Este trabajo está dividido en dos partes principales: un marco teórico y una parte práctica. El marco teórico está compuesto por una breve introducción sobre la definición de sintagma nominal, igual que la diferencia entre sintagmas nominales simples y complejos y un estudio sobre las diferentes visiones del concepto de complejidad. La parte práctica consiste en el análisis de un corpus, con la ayuda de un software, formado por cuarenta redacciones de alumnos de nivel B1 de inglés en el que los diferentes tipos de sintagmas nominales encontrados son analizados de acuerdo con sus constituyentes.
The objective of this dissertation is the study of the complexity of the noun phrases in English. This paper is divided in two main parts: a theoretical framework and a practical part. The theoretical framework is composed of a brief introduction to the definition of noun phrase, as well as the difference between simple and complex noun phrases and a study on the different views of the concept of complexity. The practical part consists of an analysis of a corpus, with the help of a software, formed by forty essays written by B1 students of English in which the different types of noun phrases found are analysed according to their constituents.
