[EN] Plant diseases lead to lower crop yields, resulting in heavy economic losses. In the case of the cultivation of de olive grave, the phytopathogenic fungí studied (Pseudocercospora cladosporioides and Verticillium dahliae) have a very bad impact throughout Spain and mainly in Andalusia. The excessive use of fungicides such as copper is a big risk on the environment, so there is a need to search for efficient and less toxic alternatives for the control of these diseases. In this reasearch, three pyrimidines (4c, 8j and 8k) were tested against P. cladosporioides and two isolates of V. dahliae to evaluate their antifungal activity and their effect on sporulation. In addition, the toxicity of these pyrimidines on the germination and growth of Lactuca sativa was evaluated. The three pyrimidines showed inhibitory growth capacity in V. dahliae, 8j was mor effective (55% inhibition). The germination and growth seedlings were not negatively affected by 8k.
