APROXIMACIÓN A LA REALIDAD SOCIAL DE LOS MENORES EXTRANJEROS NO ACOMPAÑADOS

Abstract

El colectivo de menores extranjeros no acompañados es uno de los grupos de población que mayor preocupación suscita en la actualidad. A través de una revisión bibliográfica se ha buscado conocer cuál es la situación del colectivo, analizando el cambio de perfil en las últimas décadas, la legislación que les ampara y los motivos de fondo que les animan a emprender un proyecto migratorio. Además, se ha analizado el funcionamiento del sistema de protección de menores, cuáles son las necesidades que presenta el colectivo en cuestión, qué motivos existen para que un porcentaje de menores no entre dentro del sistema de protección y qué sucede tras la mayoría de edad. Para apoyar toda la información se ha acudido a técnicas cualitativas realizando entrevistas a chicos que llegaron a España siendo menores de edad y adquirieron la condición de MENA.

The group of unaccompanied foreing minors is one of the population groups that raises the greatest concern today. Through a bibliographic review, we have sought to know what the situation of the group is, analyzing the change in profile in recent decades, the legislation that protects them and the underlying reasons that encourage them to indertake a migratory project. In addition, the functioning of the protection system for minors has been analyzed, what are the needs of the group in question, what reasons exist for a precentage of minors not to enter the protection system and what happens after the age or majority. To support all the information, qualitative techniques have been used, conducting interviews with boys who arrived in Spain as minors and acquired MENA status.
