MAYORES EN EL ENTORNO RURAL. POTENCIALIDADES DEL ENVEJECIMIENTO ACTIVO E INTERVENCIÓN DESDE EL TRABAJO SOCIAL

Abstract

El envejecimiento activo y saludable es una cuestión vital para las personas mayores. El prolongado proceso de envejecimiento al que asistimos a nivel mundial requiere estrategias que den respuestas a las necesidades de este colectivo. En este trabajo nos centraremos en las personas mayores que viven en zonas rurales en España para conocer cuál es su situación y la intervención que se realiza desde el Trabajo Social. Para ello se ha llevado a cabo la metodología revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de seleccionar aquellas investigaciones que reflejan dicha realidad, así como analizar las estrategias que se adapten a las particularidades. Tras el estudio se observa fundamentalmente infraestructuras insuficientes, escasez de recursos, así como desigualdades territoriales y de género

Active and healthy aging is a vital issue for the elderly. The prolonged aging process we are witnessing worldwide requires strategies that respond to the needs of this group. In this. paper we will focus on the elderly living in rural areas in Spain to know what is their situation and the intervention carried out by Social Work. For this purpose, we have carried out a literature review methodology with the aim of selecting those investigations that reflect this reality, as well as analyzing the strategies that are adapted to the particularities. After the study, insufficient infrastructures, scarcity of resources, as well as territorial and gender inequalities were observed
