[EN] The present work is focused on the study of using high lignin content materials as potential adsorbents of furfural, industrial chemical compound derived from several agricultural by-products, since its presence is particularly harmful in many energetic processes as those ones directed towards biofuel generation. The aim of this research is to assess experimentally the holding capacity for the above mentioned furanic compound, employing commercial olive stone treated appropriately, considering the effect of relevant operating variables; thus, it could be possible to use a residual matter from other industrial processes, as the lignin is, and turn it into interesting matrix for adsorption systems.
