[EN]In this work, the degradation of four triazine herbicides (atrazine, simazine, terbuthylazine and terbutryn) using ultraviolet (UV) irradiation treatment have been assessed. In addition, the formation of transformation products was also studied as well as their removal during UV treatment. For this purpose, liquid chromatography/ time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC-TOF-MS) was used as detection method as it enables the identification of elemental compositions through accurate mass rneasurements. Results obtained indicated that the complete degrndation of each triazine varied from 20 minutes (simazine) to 60 minutes (terbutylazine and terbutryn). In ali studied compounds, different transformation products were identified, sorne of them were not completely abated during treatment period (150 minutes), thus showing a high persistence to UV irradiation.
