Gender-based violence is considered one of the major problems in society and in healthcare. It was further accentuated with the advent of compulsory COVID-19 lockdown, due to the risk factors that it entails, such as isolation and control. For this reason, this final degree project aims to find out what the real impact of this type of violence was during COVID-19 lockdown. In order to do so, a historical review of how Spain has evolved in terms of gender violence and what events have occurred during the pandemic has been carried out. The results show how society, and in particular social welfare resources have failed in assisting adequately victims in such an exceptional situation
