MENORES EXTRANJEROS NO ACOMPAÑADOS: DISCRIMINACIÓN, PREJUICIOS Y ESTEREOTIPOS HACIA EL COLECTIVO.

Abstract

La llegada a la península de innumerables flujos migratorios está aumentando considerablemente, especialmente la cifra de menores que cruzan la frontera sin compañía de ningún progenitor o adulto que se responsabilice de ellos. El colectivo de menores extranjeros no acompañados se ha visto perjudicado por una serie de estereotipos y prejuicios que dificultan la correcta integración social de estos menores. A pesar de que se está produciendo un cambio en la actitud de los ciudadanos hacia la población inmigrante, todavía nos encontramos con la existencia de pensamientos negativos que en la mayoría de las ocasiones son erróneos y no se corresponden con la realidad del colectivo afectado. Nuestra investigación se centra en la realización de un cuestionario anónimo y voluntario, donde se ha podido comprobar que la gran mayoría de las personas encuestadas no presentan estereotipos y prejuicios negativos, pero se ha encontrado una pequeña muestra de participantes que sí mantienen esas creencias y pensamientos erróneos hacia los menores extranjeros no acompañados.

The arrival to the peninsula of innumerable migratory flows is increasing considerably, especially the number of minors who cross the border without any parent or adult to take responsibility for them. The group of unaccompanied foreign minors has been harmed by a series of stereotypes and prejudices that hinder the proper social integration of these minors. Despite the fact that there is a change in the attitude of citizens towards the immigrant population, we are still faced with the existence of negative thoughts that in most cases are wrong and do not correspond to the reality of the group affected. Our research focuses on the completion of an anonymous and voluntary questionnaire, where we have found that the vast majority of respondents do not have negative stereotypes and prejudices, but we have found a small sample of participants who do hold such beliefs and misconceptions about unaccompanied foreign minors.
