(ES) La Monarquía Hispánica, así como la alta nobleza, a lo largo de los siglos ha contado con numerosas
herramientas para difundir su poder en aquellos territorios sometidos o no a su mandato. Una
de ellas, muy representativa a nivel visual, son los carruajes, que desde sus inicios han servido
de vehículo de transporte, pero a medida que la Historia avanza, comienzan a adquirir un
mayor prestigio y a experimentar cambios desde un punto de vista material, estructural, así
como artístico e iconográfico. Esta evolución, llegando incluso hasta la actualidad, se debe a los
gustos de cada época, una época de intercambios influenciados por las modas de cada
momento, además de la llegada de artistas procedentes de fuera de la Península, generando así
unos vehículos suntuosos y galantes, cuyo fin consiste en mostrar el estatus, linaje y poder del
propietario.
(EN) The Hispanic Monarchy, as well as high nobility, over the centuries it has had numerous tools to spread its power in those territories subject or not to its mandate. One of them, very representative at a visual level, are the carriages, that since its inception they have served as transport vehicles, but as history progresses, begin to acquire greater prestige and to undergo changes from a material, structural and iconographic point of view. This evolution, even reaching the present day, is due to the tastes of each era, an era of exchanges influenced by the fashions of each moment, in addition to the arrival of artists from outside the Peninsula, thus generating sumptuous and gallant vehicles, whose purpose is to show the status, lineage and power of the owner.
