La obesidad es la influencia de la aparición y pervivencia del exceso de peso en las edades escolares. El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como propósito general, estudiar los efectos del ejercicio físico y su vinculación con la prevención de la obesidad infantil en el Colegio Filipense en la ciudad de Baeza. Se estructuró en tres bloques. El primero consiste en una revisión bibliográfica de estudios previos relacionados con el tema. El segundo está basado en una investigación educativa donde participaron 81 escolares de ambos géneros y empleó un cuestionario autoadministrado diseñado para medir la actividad física de moderada a vigorosa. Finalmente, la creación de la unidad didáctica, dirigida a la mejora de la condición física de los niños y a prevenir y mejorar el índice de masa corporal de los alumnos. Se concluye que la mayoría de los niños (68%) piensan que practicar actividad física es bueno para su salud y más de la mitad tienen la convicción que realizar actividad física de forma continua es esencial para mantener un peso adecuado. El 53% de los participantes manifestó sentirse activo durante las clase de Educación Física frente al 37% que manifestó no hacer nada o casi nada.

The general purpose of this research paper was to study the effects of physical exercise and its linkage with the prevention of childhood obesity at the Philippine College in the city of Baeza. It was structured into three blocks. The first consists of a bibliographic review of previous studies related to the subject. The second is based on educational research involving 81 schoolchildren of both genders and used a self-administered questionnaire designed to measure moderate to vigorous physical activity. Finally, the creation of the teaching unit, aimed at improving the physical condition of children and preventing and improving the body mass index of students. It is concluded that most children (68%) they think that physical activity is good for their health and more than half have the conviction that continually performing physical activity is essential to maintaining adequate weight. 53% of participants said they felt active during PE classes versus the 37% who said they did nothing or almost anything.
