[EN] Soil microbial diversity is negatively affected by conventional cropping systems. An environmentalfriendly alternative are organic cropping systems. In this study I have evaluated the advantages to adopt such kind of cropping systems for the conservation of soil microbial diversity, considering the possible bias in results due to the crop type and the sequencing method use for such studies. For that, I have arranged a meta-analysis. The general result showed a positive effect of organic cropping modes on soil microbial diversity. This result did not vary between the crop types considered. By other hand, the general result was further confirmed when focusing the analysis on studies using massive sequencing approaches, but not on those with more classic microbiological methods. These results support the use of organic cropping systems.
