DUELO ANTE MUERTE POR SUICIDIO: UNA REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA

Abstract

La muerte por suicidio de un ser querido puede dar lugar a un duelo complicado debido a las características distintivas de este tipo de muerte. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar esas características distintivas del duelo que se produce como consecuencia de una pérdida de este tipo, así como las intervenciones desarrolladas en este ámbito. Para ello, se ha realizado una búsqueda bibliográfica exhaustiva. Se ha encontrado que en las personas que están en duelo por un suicidio difieren de los supervivientes de otro tipo de muerte sobre todo en los sentimientos que experimentan. Debido a estas peculiaridades es importante desarrollar intervenciones específicas para ayudar a estos supervivientes. Aunque existen recomendaciones específicas sobre aspectos concretos a trabajar en estos casos, no existe una única una técnica que sirva para todas las personas, siendo necesaria la atención individualizada.

Death by suicide of a loved one could cause a complicated grief due to the characteristics of this kind of death. The objective of this study was to analyze these distinctive characteristics of the grief that it’s produced as a consequence of this sort of death as well as the interventions developed in this area. For this, an exhaustive bibliographic search has been carried out. It has been found that people who are in grief for suicide are different from the survivors of other kind of death especially in the feelings they experience. Because of these peculiarities it is important to develop specific interventions to help these survivors. Although there are specific recommendations on concrete aspects to work in these cases there is no a single specific technique useful for all people, being needed an individualized intervention.
