Using WordApp to supplement English Language classes :1st Year CSE students' opinions, attitudes and perceptions

Resumen
[ES] El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la aplicación WordApp, de Burlington Books para estudiantes de inglés como primera lengua extranjera en ESO,más concretamente alumnado de 12ESO del lES Ciudad de Las Cabezas (Las Cabezas de San Juan, Sevilla). La disertación intenta arrojar luz sobre las opiniones, percepciones e intenciones de uso hacia WordApp en base a su efectividad, utilidad, manejabilidad, actitud durante el uso, así como el posible uso en el futuro de la misma o de otras parecidas para complementar los contenidos del currículo ordinario : vocabulario, pronunciación, deletreo y ortografía . Los datos se han recogido a partir de un cuestionario diseñado para tal efecto y que fue cumplimentado por los participantes después de trabajar con la aplicación durante 5 semanas en el mes de mayo de 2017.
[EN] This MA dissertation describes a study on students' opinions, attitudes and perceptions about WordApp, a smartphone application which supplement s the vocabulary content offered by the textbook New Action 1 from Burlíngton Ltd. lt has been carried out in a seconda ry school in Las Cabezas (Seville) .The first part of this dissertation aims to provide a theoretical background which encompasses CALL, M-Learning and MALL. The second part provides a study which shows how these participants view the language learning application in terms of eff ectiveness,usefulness,ease of use and intentions of further use. These opinions have been collect ed in a questionnair e specifically devised for the task which respondents have taken after using WordApp, mainly in the classroom,for five weeks .The study comes to an end by gauging the results at which the research has enabled us to arrive and by underscoring its limitations and lines for further investigation.
