RENOVACIÓN DE LA REPRESENTACIÓN DE LA BRUJA EN EL ARTE. UNA VISIÓN DE GÉNERO.

Abstract

La imagen de la bruja representada en la historia del arte ha estado ligada a un concepto negativo y machista, siendo su germen la caza de brujas y creado por el patriarcado para subyugar a las mujeres y justificar el perseguimiento, la violencia y el asesinato hacia ellas, encontrándonos con unos de los primeros feminicidios documentados. Es actualmente con los nuevos feminismos que se está reivindicando esta imagen como empoderante y por ello, se ha comenzado a representar en el arte actual con una perspectiva de género y reivindicativa, con ejemplos vistos en el 8M. En el siguiente trabajo, analizaremos su evolución, su importancia en los feminismos y como hoy en día se ha transformado en el arte.

The image of the witch represented in art has been linked to a negative and sexist concept, being its origins the Witch hunt. It was created by the patriarchy to subjugate women and justify their pursuit, the violence and the murderers against them, finding one of the first documented femicides. Nowadays, it is employed as an empowering image, next to the rise of new feminisms, and it is starting to be represented in art with a genre and activist perspective, with examples seen in the Feminist Strike 8M. On the following research, we will analyze their evolution, their relevance in feminist movements and how it has been transformed in art.
