Resumen
El estrés laboral es un problema psicosocial muy estudiado en los últimos años debido a los alarmantes datos de prevalencia. Este fenómeno ha sido analizado desde tres enfoques distintos: el estrés como estímulo, como respuesta y como interacción. La mayoría de las definiciones consideran que el estrés es un proceso complejo que aparece cuando el individuo percibe una discrepancia o desajuste entre las demandas del ambiente y los recursos personales para afrontar dichas exigencias. La aparición de este fenómeno desencadena tanto consecuencias individuales (de carácter físico y psicológico), como organizacionales. Este hecho ha propiciado que numerosas investigaciones se centren en su prevención y afrontamiento para evitar sus efectos negativos, con una intervención centrada en el individuo y en la organización. Por ello, el principal objetivo de este trabajo consiste en realizar un análisis desde una perspectiva psicosocial del estrés que aparece en el contexto laboral.
Work stress is a psychological problem deeply studied for the last years due to the alarming prevalence data. Three approaches have been adopted when analyzing this fact: stress as stimulus, as response and as interaction. Most definitions consider stress as a complex process which appears when an individual perceives a discrepancy or maladjustment between the environment demands and the personal resources to face these requirements. The appearance of this phenomenon triggers individual (with physical and psychological nature) as well as organizational consequences. This fact has caused the focusing in prevention and coping by numerous investigations, in order to prevent the negative effects with an intervention centered in the individual and the organization. Thus, the main objective of this project consists in the realization of an analysis from a psychological perspective about the stress that appears in the working context.
