Resumen
[ES] La música tiene muchas propiedades para incrementar nuestro bienestar y neuroplasticidad tanto en personas
sanas como en aquellas que padecen alguna patología. Numerosos investigadores han realizado estudios con el
!fin de explorar tales propiedades, desde diferentes enfoques. Dado que la música es hecha por el cerebro y para
~l cerebro, es fundamental el estudio del procesamiento de la música a nivel cerebral, así como de los efectos
Rue ésta pueda inducir sobre el funcionamiento de las diferentes regiones cerebrales. La música es, en la mayor
parte de las ocasiones, una fuente de placer, capaz de generar emociones positivas, satisfacción, de incrementar
las relaciones sociales, dar sentido a la vida y motivación, por lo sirve para la consecución de objetivos. El
~mpleo de la música como terapia está avalada por datos empíricos que indican mejoras en el rendimiento en
diferentes áreas o dimensiones de las personas que padecen ciertas patologías, aunque puede considerarse que la
música es un instrumento que tiene propiedades para incrementar la calidad de vida de las personas en general.
[EN] Music has many properties to increase our welfare and neuroplasticity not only in healthy people but also in ~hose that suffer sorne kind of pathology. A number of studies have been carried out in arder to verify such a properties from different points of view. Given that music is made by brain and to the brain, it is of grea1 importance the study of music at cerebral leve!, as well as the study of the effects that it may induce on ifunctioning of variuos brain regions. In most cases, music is considered a source of pleasure, capable oi generating positive emotions, satisfaction, increasing social relationships, giving meaning to life and motivation, so it serves to pursue objetives. The use of music as a therapy is supported by empírica! data that indicate the improvement of the performance in different areas or extent of people who suffer from specific pathologies although It can be considered like an instrument that has sorne qualities to incease people's quality of life in general.
