EL TRANSCURSO DE LA PANDEMIA DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA MUSICAL A TRAVÉS DE LA OBRA “THE LAST YEAR”

Abstract

[ES] Incluso cuando un músico culmina su etapa como discente, posee muchas incógnitas y deseos frustrados que no se pudo realizar en dicha etapa. Una de estas incógnitas, es la de ponerse en el papel de un compositor, crear música desde la nada. Para solventar este deseo, la presente investigación se centra en la creación de una obra musical basada en la música contemporánea. Para situar de forma correcta el término anteriormente mencionado, decidimos acotar la investigación, y para ello, se opta por explicar la historia de la música, desde el Barroco hasta las vanguardias tras la segunda guerra mundial, relatando los estilos más influyentes (serialismo integral, música aleatoria, Clasicismo y minimalismo). Este trabajo propone como necesario explicar dichas etapas pasadas, así como sus máximos exponentes, para entender el avance que ha supuesto la música hasta nuestros días. Tras hacer un recorrido histórico, se situará el marco compositivo en el que se encuentra la obra, proporcionando ejemplos de otras obras con características similares. De la misma forma, se explicarán las técnicas extendidas del saxofón que se incluyen en la obra (propuesta artística de este proyecto) y que otros muchos compositores incluyen en sus obras. Para entender el concepto de la obra, se justificará que significa cada movimiento y que se ha querido describir con él, pues esta gira entorno a la cotidianidad que la mayoría del mundo ha vivido durante la pandemia.

[EN] Even when a musician finishes his stage as a student, he has many unknowns and frustrated desires that could not be realized at that stage. One of these unknowns is to put oneself in the role of a composer, to create music from nothing. To solve this desire, this research focuses on the creation of a musical work based on contemporary music. In order to correctly situate the aforementioned term, we decided to limit the research, and to do so, we chose to explain the history of music, from the Baroque to the avant-garde after the Second World War, relating the most influential styles (integral serialism, aleatoric music, neoclassicism and minimalism). This work proposes as necessary to explain these past stages, as well as their greatest exponents, in order to understand the progress that music has made up to the present day. After making a historical tour, the compositional framework in which the work is located will be placed, providing examples of other works with similar characteristics. In the same way, the extended saxophone echniques included in the work (artistic proposal of this project) and that many other composers include in their works will be explained. To understand the concept of the work, we will justify what each movement means and what we have wanted to describe with it, since it revolves around the daily life that most of the world has lived during the pandemic.
