Los materiales antiguos del Herbario de la Universidad de Jaén (JAEN)

Abstract

[ES] Debido a la demanda de formas más eficientes de manejar la información contenida en las colecciones botánicas al igual que facilitar y ampliar su acceso a un mayor número de investigadores, la colección histórica del herbario de la Universidad de Jaén (JAEN) ha sido informatizada y publicada en el Sistema Global de Información sobre Biodiversidad (GBIF) usando el gestor de colecciones científicas Elysia. Además, se ha examinado su verdadera dimensión taxonómica junto con los aspectos relacionados con su recolección. El herbario JAEN contiene 1.608 pliegos recolectados por importantes botánicos entre los siglos XIX y XX principalmente en Andalucía y el resto de España, pero también en otros países de Europa, África y Asia. Entre estos pliegos, encontramos cinco especímenes tipo que justifican la importancia de su conservación, a pesar de su modesto tamaño y el breve recorrido como institución en comparación con los herbarios andaluces que publican datos en GBIF.

[EN] Due to the demand for more efficient ways to manage the information contained in botanical collections as well as facilitate and expand access to a greater number of researchers, the historical collection of the herbarium at the University of Jaén (JAEN) has been computerized and published in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) using the scientific collection manager Elysia. Furthermore, its true taxonomic dimension has been examined together with the aspects regarding its collecting. The herbarium JAEN contains 1.608 sheets collected by important botanists between the 19th and 20th centuries mainly in Andalusia and the rest of Spain, but also in other countries of Europe, Africa and Asia. Among these, we find five type specimens that justify the importance of its conservation, despite its modest size and brief history as an institution compared to the rest of Andalusian herbaria that publish data in GBIF.
