Today, there are a significant number of children suffering from child abuse, or adults who have suffered some form of child maltreatment throughout their lives. Child maltreatment is not a recent phenomenon but has been studied throughout the history of mankind, since it has a great impact on the children who suffer it. The objective of this literature review is to know what is child abuse and how we can reduce its impact. To do this, we deal with evidence-based practices, a very new trend that has emerged in the United States and with various interventions already in Spain, specifically some in the area of child maltreatment with programs such as the SafeCare. We analyze the intervention with these programs in the field of Social Services, especially in families with child maltreatment, in order to see the benefits of these practices based on the evidence and to promote their application.
