Resumen
[ES] A lo largo del siglo XIX y hasta nuestros días el teatro mexicano ha tratado de buscar unas señas de identidad
propias que lo diferenciaran del resto de países. Podríamos nombrar un gran número de dramaturgos que
han desarrollado sus obras con el objetivo de crear un teatro único, con una estética propia y abordando
problemáticas de su país. Dentro de este teatro, el autor considerado como padre del teatro mexicano es
Rodolfo Usigli, quien consiguió, según la mayoría de críticos, crear una dramaturgia puramente mexicana.
Por ello, a lo largo de este trabajo se abordará su figura y sus aportaciones a la escena de su país. A través
de su obra conseguiremos conocer la historia de México y sus características.
[EN] Throughout the 19th century and till these days, Mexican theatre has tried to find its distinctive features. A number of playwrights whose plays were intended to create a unique theatre with its own aesthetics and dealing with the country's issues could be listed. Notwithstanding, it is agreed that Rodolfo Usigli is considered the father of Mexican theatre art, as he was able to create a purely Mexican dramaturgy. For this reason, this essay will deal with deal with his figure and his contribution to Mexican drama. Through his life's work we will get to know the history of Mexico and its characteristics.
