[EN]Nowadays, beauty standards in developed countries are based in models with impossible measures which are adopted by teenagers supposing a risk factor for the development of alterations in body image. From a theoretical point of view, the aim of this study is to implement a program of psychological intervention for the improvement of body image of young people in risk of social exclusion. The main objectives of intervention are: that the person can discover and learn to perceive him or herself with more objectivity and that he or she has a positive thinking of him or herself. We focus on explaining how we have carried out a cognitive-behavioral intervention in which three components of body image have been considered: perceptive, cognitive-affective and behavioral. We have accomplished a psychological assessment with self-report measures to analyze the possible improvements of body image. The assessment was carried out before and after the treatment. The intervention program has seven sessions and seven young participants. A psychological assessment was accomplished using self-report to analyze possible improvements in body image. The assessment was accomplished before and after treatment. The outcome showed that all the participants improved their levels of body satisfaction.
