[EN]Background: Nowadays, patellar tendinopathy is one of the most prevalent injuries in athletes. This review is performed given the multitude of techniques that are currently investigating. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of different treatments addressing patellar tendinopathy. Methods: We searched in bibliographic databases PubMed and PEDro using the keywords: "Patellar tendinopathy AND treatment". Studies should be randomized trials of high methodological quality and published within 5 years. Results: There were significant improvements in pain and level of pain during activity or sport with the eccentric and static stretching exercises, arthroscopic shaving and injections of tenocytes. Topical nitroglycerin patches, extracorporeal shock waves, PRP therapy and corticosteroid injections showed no significant difference with the control group. Conclusion: Despite the improvements found in the different techniques, none of them could be determined as the preferred treatment because of the evidence found is limited.
