Contrastive Analysis of Apology Expressions

Abstract

(ES) Este Trabajo Fin de Grado pretende contrastar y analizar las principales expresiones de disculpa del léxico inglés y español. Para una mejor comprensión de este estudio, este trabajo incluye un marco teórico que se divide en tres subapartados. El primero aborda qué es una disculpa y por qué es importante, con el fin de contextualizar el tema principal. A continuación, se explica qué y cómo se puede hacer un análisis contrastivo. El último está relacionado con la idea anterior, discutiendo los componentes lingüísticos más relevantes del mismo. Tras estos antecedentes teóricos, se llevará a cabo el análisis de un corpus recogido mediante el uso de diccionarios. Por último, las conclusiones y la bibliografía estarán presentes al final de este trabajo académico.(EN) This Degree’s Dissertation aims to contrast and analyse the main apology expressions in the English and Spanish lexicon. For a better understanding of this study, this report includes a theoretical framework divided into three subsections. The first one deals with what is an apology and why it is important, in order to contextualise the main topic. Then, it is explained what and how a contrastive analysis can be done. The last one is related to the previous idea, discussing the most relevant linguistic components. After these theoretical backgrounds, the analysis of a corpus collected through the use of dictionaries will be carried out. Finally, conclusions and bibliography will be presented at the end of this academic paper.
