This Master's Thesis focuses on the design of a didactic unit for the subject of Biology and Geology in 4th year of ESO. The unit, entitled "The Ecosystems," centers around Block 3 of the curriculum, Ecology and Environment. The work aims to give a practical basis to future teachers about their future in the classroom. It is divided into two sections: epistemological foundations, where scientific information on the principles and concepts that underpin the theoretical approach to ecosystems is compiled; and didactic projection, where the development of the didactic unit's program is presented, describing methods, content, objectives, competencies, evaluation, and current legislation related to the topic. The didactic unit incorporates active pedagogical approaches, lecturers class, cooperative learning, and the use of technology to promote student participation and critical thinking. The main objective of the didactic unit is to provide students with theoretical and practical tools to understand the environment that surrounds them, as well as the importance of preserving it.
