“GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD” The creation of an English-language theater group for elementary schools.

(ES)Este proyecto surge de la inquietud de acercar el teatro a todos los alumnos de un centro bilingüe de Educación Primaria de la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, no sólo como meros espectadores, a los que están acostumbrados, sino como partícipes del mismo. Por tanto, es un trabajo basado en la experiencia pedagógica llevada a cabo durante más de 10 años. Para ello, se presenta una propuesta pedagógica teatral en inglés para ser llevada a cabo por un grupo de teatro escolar con alumnos de toda la etapa de Educación Primaria y que involucra diferentes áreas del currículo. El objetivo principal de la presente propuesta es mejorar la competencia comunicativa de los alumnos en la lengua inglesa, dotándolos de herramientas y recursos necesarios que les permita realizar interacciones significativas y fluidas, asimilar rasgos de pronunciación y prosodia y adquirir vocabulario de manera contextualizada, al mismo tiempo que se fomenta en los alumnos una mayor confianza en su capacidad para aprender la lengua inglesa.
(EN)This project arises from the concern to bring the theater to all students of a bilingual center of Primary Education of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, not only as mere spectators, to which they are accustomed, but as participants in it. Therefore, it is a work based on the pedagogical experience carried out for more than 10 years. For this purpose, we present a theatrical pedagogical proposal in English to be carried out by a school theater group with students from the whole Primary Education stage and involving different areas of the curriculum. The main objective of this proposal is to improve the students' communicative competence in the English language, providing them with the necessary tools and resources that will allow them to carry out meaningful and fluent interactions, assimilate pronunciation and prosody features and acquire vocabulary in a contextualized manner, while at the same time fostering in the students a greater confidence in their ability to learn the English language.
