Background:Currently, there is no empirical evidence on the efficacy of psychological treatment in anorexia nervosa (AN). Aims: To evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family therapy (FT), for the restoration of weight and adherence to work in patients with AN. Method: Systematic review following the PRISMA guide in randomized controlled trials (RCTs), evaluation of the risk of bias using Cochrane. Results: There are very few ECAs where CBT or TF are significantly more effective in weight restoration than other therapies. However, in most cases there was a significant criticism of weight, especially in ECAS with TF. The dropout rate was lower in CBT than other therapies. Conclusions: TF is more effective in weight restoration than CBT. However, CBT is more effective in facilitating adherence to treatment.
