Abstract

Akhenaton llevó a cabo una “revolución” religiosa que no tiene precedentes en la historia del Antiguo Egipto. Sus motivaciones pudieron ser varias, como el papel que jugaba Amón en la legitimación de los monarcas o el intento de proyectar la imagen de una monarquía fuerte, especialmente hacia el exterior. Sin embargo, tan pronto como llegaron sus reformas, desaparecieron. Tras su muerte, y posiblemente debido a que se trataba de una religión nacida en el seno de la corte, separada de la religión popular, junto con la pandemia, provocó la caída del Atonismo

Akhenaten made a religious "revolution" that had not been seen before in the history of Ancient Egypt.
