LA INFORMACIÓN ASIMÉTRICA EN LOS MERCADOS: UNA APLICACIÓN A LA APP WALLAPOP

Resumen
[ES] La teoría de juegos tiene una gran importancia para la
economía actualporque analiza cómo deben relacionarse los
agentes cuando sus intereses se enfrentan a situaciones de conflicto
en mercados donde la oferta y la demanda no son perfectas. En este
trabajo analizamos un tipo de mercados, conocido como el
mercado de los “limones”,donde existe información asimétrica
entre las partes. Por ello, nos centramos en el estudio de los
problemas que genera dicha situación y las soluciones que se han
propuesto. A continuación, se presentan algunos resultados de un
estudio de campo realizado sobre la app Wallapop. Como
principales conclusiones, se constata que hoy en día,y a pesar de
introducir mejoraspara evitar los problemas de la información
incompleta, siguen existiendo muchas dificultades para este tipo
de mercado online que generan desconfianza tanto a los
vendedores como a los compradores.
[EN] Game theory has a great importance for the current economy because it analyzes how agents interact each other when their interests face conflicting situations in markets where supply and demand are not perfect. In this paper we analyze a type of markets, known as the "lemons" market, where asymmetric information exists between both parties. Therefore, we focus on the study of the problems generated by this situation and the solutions that have been proposed. Afterwards, we present some results of a case study conducted on the Wallapop app. The main conclusions are that today, and despite improvements to avoid problems of incomplete information, there are still many difficulties for this type of online markets that generate distrust both sellers and buyers.
