PREJUICIOS Y COMPORTAMIENTOS DISCRIMINATORIOS HACIA PERSONAS RECLUSAS Y EX RECLUSAS EN TRABAJO SOCIAL Y DERECHO

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es estudiar los prejuicios y comportamientos discriminatorios hacia las personas reclusas y ex reclusas que existen en futuros profesionales del ámbito del Trabajo Social y Derecho. Para ello se pasó a un grupo de estudiantes (N=109), que recogía información sobre la distancia social, los atributos positivos de moralidad, sociabilidad y competencia que los participantes perciben hacia las personas reclusas y ex reclusas, las emociones y las tendencias comportamentales facilitadoras de su integración y participación social. Se encontró que las personas formadas en Trabajo Social son menos prejuiciosas que las que pertenecen al ámbito del Derecho. Esto puede tener un impacto en el trato con las personas reclusas y ex reclusas a la hora de trabajar con éstas, tanto dentro como fuera del establecimiento penitenciario.

The aim of this research is to study the prejudices and discriminatory behaviours towards prisioners and exprisoner that exist in future professionals in the field of Social Work and Law. In order to do so a questionnaire was conducted to a group of students (N=109), which gathered information about the social distance, positive attributes of morality, sociability and competence that participants perceive towards prisoners and exprisoners, emotions and behavioural tendencies facilitating their integration and social paticipation. It was found out that people from Social Work field are less prejudiced than those who belong to the law field. It could have an impact on their treatment towards prisoners and exprisoner when they have to work with them, both inside and outside the Penitentiary Institution.
