Interacción epistática de IFN-4 con genes de la inmunidad innata en la susceptibilidad a la infección por el VIH-1 y VHC

Abstract

[ES] El presente estudio tiene como fin estudiar la susceptibilidad a VIH-1 asociada al INF-4, ampliando el tamaño de la población de estudio que ya se conocía, así como investigar las relaciones de este gen con otros genes implicados a la resistencia a la infección por VIH-1 y VHC. Para ello se ensambló una base de datos de pacientes con diferentes fenotipos clínicos y sus genotipos para 432 SNPs relacionados con estos virus, procedentes de proyectos anteriores. Además se realizó el genotipado de rs368234815 (INF-4) y rs333 (CCR5) para algunos pacientes. El meta-análisis de las poblaciones de España e Italia para rs368234815 (INF-4) resultó ser significativo en relación con la susceptibilidad a infección de VIH-1. Además aparecieron nuevas asociaciones en relación con este aspecto y con otros fenotipos relacionados con la infección de VHC. También aparecieron interacciones epistáticas de rs368234815 (INF-4) con otros genes como es el caso de rs187238 (IL18).

[EN] The present study has the purpose of studying the association of a INF-4 single nucleotide polymorphism with HIV-1 susceptibility, increasing the size of the study population that was already known, also to research interactions between this gene with others genes involved in the resistance to HIV-1 and HCV. In order to do that, a data base of patients with different clinical phenotypes and their genotypes of 432 SNPs related with these virus, this information was obtained from previous projects, and it was assembled in 4 a single database. Moreover the genotyping for rs368234815 (INF-4) and rs333 (CCR5) were made in some patients. The meta-analysis of the Spanish and Italian populations for the rs368234815 (INF-4) confirmed the implication of this gene with susceptibility to HIV-1 infection. In addition, new associations appeared in relation to this aspect and with others phenotypes associated with HCV infection. Also epistatic interactions of rs368234815 (INF-4) with other genes such as rs187238 (IL18) appeared.
