This TFG is a starting point for the investigation of the connection between the socio-cultural environment and the development of musical ear. Priority will be given to the melodic ear and the influence of the most direct family of the subjects in school stage. This work is the result of a long process of writing, research and review of the main authors who have contributed their perspective throughout the twentieth century and part of this century. The research involved conducting a test designed on purpose (TFOM) from existing validated instruments. Such proof is divided into two parts: a survey referred to the musical environment in the family of subjects and in a melodic hearing test. The provisional conclusions suggest that there is not such a strong influence among a favorable musical environment and better results in the listening test. Therefore, is left an open line for future researchs that can establish significant correlations and confirm or deny the initial hypothesis.
