Nowadays, to identify living beings, it is essential the knowledge of their classification. The first part of this Master Dissertation is a review of the different classifications of organisms that have been developed throughout history. Secondly, it shows the methodologies that have been more effective to teach the teaching unit called "classification of living beings", which belongs to the matter Biology and Geology, taught in the first course of high school. The main objective of the developed teaching unit is to show the importance of the binomial system to name the species using the taxonomy to classify and identify them properly. So we may use them for the benefit of human being or to discover the specific disease-causing agent in order to treat it once their characteristics are known.
