Eating Disorders (ED) have been very present throughout history. However, over the years, new ways of life have appeared, such as social networks that produce the need to have a good body image. This causes minors, specifically the adolescent group, to focus their attention on these, escaping from their families. This is why adolescence is one of the most common stages to start in the world of social networks. This entails serious negative consequences since at this age group acceptance is sought, so body image plays a fundamental role in this stage. Throughout this research project, it will be possible to understand in depth what an ED is, as well as its typology, factors associated with its development and its treatment. In addition, it will be investigated in depth on the gender perspective in this subject since women are the most vulnerable to suffer an eating disorder and the important role that Social Work plays in this type of pathologies will be seen
