La arquitectura rupestre hace referencia a las construcciones excavadas o esculpidas en la roca. Sus primeras manifestaciones se remontan a la prehistoria y mantienen una producción significativa hasta la Edad Media. En la Península Ibérica, la mayor elaboración y monumentalidad ha tenido en torno la Edad del Hierro. Este trabajo tiene como objeto realizar un análisis descriptivo-comparativo de algunos los pueblos presentes en la península en la Edad del Hierro; concretamente Castellar de Meca, Tiermes, La Cava y Contrebia Leucade. Ahondar en sus posibles influencias e interacciones, analogías y diferencias, así como en la complejidad de su organización y ejecución. Todo ello enmarcado en una visión global que pretende ofrecer una perspectiva general de comprensión, de la arquitectura rupestre en la antigüedad.
The rock architecture refers to the constructions excavated or sculpted in rock by ancient civilizations. Its first manifestations date back to prehistory and maintained a significant production until the Middle Ages. In the Iberian Peninsula, the greatest elaboration and monumentality has taken place around the Iron Age. The objective of this work is to carry out a descriptive-comparative analysis of some of the cave peoples, present in the peninsula in the Iron Age; specifically Castellar de Meca, Tiermes, La Cava and Contrebia Leucade. Delve into their possible influences and interactions, analogies and differences, as well as the complexity of their organization and execution. All this framed in a global vision that tries to offer a general perspective of comprehension of the cave architecture in antiquity.
