Communication is an interactive process typical of the human species. Human beings are sociable and as such, they cannot avoid communicating to request help, consolidate emotional ties or share knowledge and perceptions about the conflicts that take place in their context. However, not all people can benefit from interactions, since a small group of society, with diverse personal characteristics, needs to use other forms of expression, which are far from verbal communication, and are unknown to the rest. This means that they cannot express themselves freely or get involved in decisions that affect the entire community, giving rise to communicative disability. Therefore, this research work aims to delimit the concept of communicative disability, identify the communication barriers that alter the communication process and publicize the numerous resources offered through communication assistive technology.
