(ES) Con este trabajo se pretende mostrar la tipología urbanística de la cultura argárica, en Jaén y Granada,
para poder esclarecer las causas que hicieron elegir la localización de sus asentamientos de tan difícil
acceso y su la fortificación de los mismos mediante estructuras murarias. Para ello se ha procedido al
estudio urbanístico de tres asentamientos argáricos, Castellón Alto y Cerro de la Encina en Granada, y
Peñalosa en Jaén, poniendo de manifiesto su tipología urbanística y de control territorial. Para concluir,
se establece una hipótesis para responder al modelo urbanístico tan fuertemente defendido y las causas
que nos han llevado a realizar dicha hipótesis.
(EN) The aim of this work is to show the urban typology of the Argaric culture in Jaén and Granada, in order to clarify the causes that made the choice of the location of their settlements so difficult to access and their fortification by means of wall structures. For this purpose, we have proceeded to the urban study of three Argaric settlements, Castellón Alto and Cerro de la Encina in Granada, and Peñalosa in Jaén, revealing their urban and territorial control typology. To conclude, a hypothesis is established to respond to the urbanistic model so strongly defended and the causes that have led us to make this hypothesis.
