(ES) En esta revisión se trata de ahondar en las diferentes alteraciones neurobiológicas de la
enfermedad de la Fibromialgia que expliquen por qué estos pacientes tienen una mayor
sensibilidad al dolor. Para ellos, contextualizamos la enfermedad en primer lugar y hablamos de
muchos de los hallazgos neuroanatómicos que se han encontrado en el curso de las investigaciones
para que sirva de precedente a la hora de explicar los resultados hallados en nuestra revisión. Entre
los resultados podemos observar que en Fibromialgia hay dos tipos de mecanismos que están
claramente relacionados con el dolor y que se encuentran defectuosos; el mecanismo de
procesamiento de dolor y el mecanismo de analgesia central. Podemos decir que existe una
hiperactividad en el primero y una hipoactividad en el segundo.
(EN) In this review we try to delve into the different neurobiological alterations of Fibromyalgia disease that explain why these patients have an increased sensitivity to pain. To do so, we first contextualize the disease and discuss many of the neuroanatomical findings that have been found in the course of research to serve as a precedent to explain the results found in our review. Among the results we can observe that in Fibromyalgia there are two types of mechanisms that are clearly related to pain and that are found to be defective; the pain processing mechanism and the central analgesia mechanism. We can say that there is hyperactivity in the former and hypoactivity in the latter
