La pintura de paisaje del siglo XIX será usada por las distintas corrientes pictóricas como herramienta esencial para testimoniar los acontecimientos sociales y políticos de la época. Será en este momento cuando el paisaje goce del protagonismo que merece, convirtiéndose en el género pictórico por excelencia. El sentimiento, la expresión incluso el más crudo realismo encontrarán en la naturaleza la forma ideal bajo la que representarse. Los distintos artistas partícipes de este siglo crearán un vínculo con la naturaleza como nunca antes había existido.The landscape painting of the nineteenth century will be used by the different pictorial currents as an essential tool to witness the social and political events of the time.
