Perfil de evolución de la función ejecutiva y madurez intelectual en relación con la condición físico-motora en niños y niñas preescolares

Abstract

Objetivo. El objetivo de este estudio es conocer el perfil evolutivo de la función ejecutiva y la madurez intelectual en relación con la condición física en preescolares. Método. Han participado 81 niños y niñas de 3 a 6 años, 44 niños y 37 niñas. Se han realizado pruebas de condición física: fuerza, equilibrio, salto horizontal, velocidad, resistencia y tiempo de reacción. Se analizó la función ejecutiva (FE) y madurez intelectual con los test de Laberintos de Porteus y el test de Goodenough respectivamente. Resultados. En la evolución de las variables cognitivas y de condición física según la edad, se observan diferencias significativas entre todas las variables. Se encuentras correlaciones significativas entre las variables cognitivas y de condición física. La fuerza de prensión manual es una variable predictiva común de la FE y madurez intelectual. Conclusiones. Existe un paralelismo evolutivo entre el desarrollo cognitivo con el desarrollo de la condición física.

Objective. The objective of this study is to understand the evolutionary profile of the executive function and the intellectual maturity in relation to the physical condition in preschool children. Method. A total of 81 children with the age of 3-6 years, have participated in the project, 44 boys and 37 girls. Executive function (EF) and intellectual maturity were analysed with Porteus Maze test and Goodenough respectively. Results. In the evolution of cognitive variables and physical condition according to the age of children, significant differences between those variables have been observed. Notable correlations between the previous variables have been found. The hand grip strength is a common predictor of EF and intellectual maturity. Conclusions. There is an evolutionary parallelism between cognitive developments with the development of fitness.
