A lo largo de la historia, la mujer ha tenido un papel invisibilizado en todos los ámbitos, y en concreto en el musical, como productora, directora de orquestas, cantante y compositora. La evolución del feminismo ha conseguido vencer al patriarcado, y gracias al empoderamiento de la mujer muchas de ellas se han rebelado frente al machismo de las letras y los videoclips con nuevas versiones más feministas. Sin embargo, muchos géneros musicales que se han construido en el patriarcado, como el caso de la música urbana, el reggaetón y otros que se explicarán a continuación han tenido un gran auge dentro de la adolescencia y la adultez, por cosificar a la mujer e hipersexualizarla. Esta investigación pretende realizar un análisis exhaustivo acerca de la representación de la mujer en distintos géneros musicales, así como proponer nuevas formas de educar a través de una musicología comprometida con la igualdad de género.
Throughout history, women have played an invisible role in all fields, particularly in music, as producers, orchestra conductors, singers and composers. The evolution of feminism has managed to overcome patriarchy, and thanks to the empowerment of women, many of them have rebelled against the machismo of lyrics and video clips with new, more feminist versions. Nevertheless, many musical genres that have been built on patriarchy, such as urban music, reggaeton and others that will be explained below, have had a great boom in adolescence and adulthood, because they objectify women and hypersexualise them. This research aims to carry out an exhaustive analysis of the representation of women in different musical genres, as well as to propose new ways of educating through a musicology committed to gender equality.
