Resumen
[ES] En objetivo de este Trabajo es el diseño de una Unidad de Intervención Asistida con Perro (IAP), cuyos
objetivos son, por una parte, disminuir la ansiedad, estrés y angustia percibidos por los niños/as que
acuden a Urgencias de Ped iatría; por otra , facilitar los procesos de valoración y diagnóstico con el
apoyo del perro por parte del personal sanitario; proporcionar una alternativa lúdica eficaz e
innovadora de ocio y entreten imiento a los niños que esperan su turno; incrementar la aceptación de
la IAP en el ámbito hospitalario y por último, definir un Protocolo de Bienestar Animal específico para
el perro que trabaje en Urgencias de Ped iatría. El resultado, una Unidad de IAP en Urgencias de
Pediatría donde las actividades se llevan a cabo varias veces por semana y se dividen en tres tipos
diferentes (valoración, entretenimiento, o disminución del estrés), pretendiendo ser viable para
niños/as, familiares y personal sanitario.
[EN] In main aim of this Final project, is to design a Unit of Dog Assisted lntervention (DAI), whose objectives are, on the one hand, to reduce the anxiety and stress perceived by children who attend the Pediatric Emergency Department; on the other, facilitate the assessment and diagnosis processes with the dog·s support by the health staff; provide an innovative recreational alternative for leisure and entertainment for ch ildren waiting their turn; to increase the acceptance of DAI in hospital milieu and, in the end, to define a speci fic Welfare An imal Protocol for the dog that works in the Pediatríc Emergency Department. In this respect, we design a Dog Assisted Unit in Pediatric Emergency Department, where activities are carried out severa! times a week by expert teams and are divided in three different types according to the goal (assessment, entertainment ar decrease of stress), pretending to be viable for children, parents and staff.
