cepas bacterianas.
[EN]The present study focused on the characterization of the antibiotic activities of 58 bacterial strains from local soil samples. For which all the strains grew in BHAT medium and buffered at pH 7, characterizing 11 strains as Gram-negative and 37 as Gram-positive. The presence of indicator inhibition halos of antimicrobial protein compounds or antibiotics was also tested. In addition, taxonomics were characterized by 16S sequencing, obtaining 22 strains at the genus level, 5 from Staphylococcus, 5 from Bacillus, 5 from Leuconostoc, 3 from Escherichia, 3 from Pseudomonas, and 1 from Enterococcus. Of which those belonging to the genus Leuconostoc, can be producers of bacteriocins, since they are known to produce lactate, CO_2, acetates and ethanol, for this reason they are used in products such as fermented milk, cheese and meat. This is how the door is opened for a future study of these 5 bacterial strains.
