Resumen
[ES] Este trabajo investiga la influencia e impacto de las series estadounidenses y británicas como medio para mejorar el aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa. Los alumnos del Bachillerato de Arte de un centro educativo de Córdoba son la muestra para recoger y analizar las experiencias y percepciones de series recientes. La idea de que estas series ayudan en el aprendizaje de la asignatura de “Inglés” es apoyada por profesores, investigadores y el público en general. Hoy en día, son de vital importancia para motivar a los alumnos en el aprendizaje de esta lengua extranjera. Por esta razón, este estudio examina los efectos de la creciente popularidad de las series estadounidenses y británicas, y su impacto en la competencia comunicativa de los estudiantes andaluces. El presente estudio intenta ofrecer una visión reveladora del tema, para que los profesores puedan integrar las series al preparar las sesiones y unidades didácticas del curriculum educativo.
[EN] This study investigates the influence and impact of American and British TV shows as a way of enhancing English learning. Bachillerato of Art students in a school centre of Córdoba are the sample to analyze their experiences and perceptions with recent foreign television series. The idea that TV shows in English help the study of this subject has already been supported by teachers, scholars, researchers and the general public. Nowadays, these shows play a significant role in motivating students to learn English. For this reason, the present study examines the effects of the increasing popularity of American and British shows and the impact on Andalusian students’ communicative competence. This study tries to bring some insight so teachers can integrate these perceptions when preparing sessions and lesson plans of their syllabuses.
