competencia.
[EN]The lnformation and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have rapidly become an integral part of our lives and so teachers have faced the challenge of integrating technology in class in a motivating way. In this respect, this primary, practica! and (quasi-)experimental classroom research emerged from the hypothesis that introducing audiovisuals and technology in the foreign language classroom would have a positive impact on language competence and motivation. The literary review, based on the analysis of audiovisuals and technologies in education, looks into the matter from a psychological, pedagogical and practica! way and aided the lesson plan and instrument design. The quantitative and qualitative data collected in the control and experimental groups did not show a clear improvement on language competence due to the experiment's limitations, but the results point out that students' motivation was favored which may have slightly improved their language competence.
