[EN] This work includes the result of a review of published data on the consequences that childhood traumatic experiences (CTE), derived from any type of physical, sexual and / or emotional neglect and / or abuse, may have on the development of children who suffer from them. Among the aforementioned consequences is a greater probability of developing some disorders, such as alcohol use disorder (SUD). In this paper, the existing data on SUD in people who have suffered CTE are reviewed to date, paying attention, in addition, to the published data on the possibility of differences between children in care (children who have lost care of their parents and they have to be cared for by the Child Protection System), with respect to the unprotected and, even, depending on the type of guardianship or foster care to which they are subjected (family or residential). The ultimate aim of this work is to contribute to highlighting the importance of early detection of possible childhood traumatic events and their possible repercussions, in order to improve early intervention strategies and, with this, the prevention of future health problems.
