(ES) El Síndrome de Down es una discapacidad intelectual ocasionada por una alteración genética
debido a la aparición de un cromosoma extra en el par 21, se origina de manera espontánea y
se desconoce la causa. Estas personas presentan unas características físicas y cognitivas
peculiares diferentes al resto.
Dichas personas deben de tener las mismas oportunidades que cualquier otro colectivo, por lo
que requieren de unas medidas adaptadas y de un aprendizaje específico. Esta revisión
pretende abordar la importancia que tiene la inclusión en el sistema educativo para el
alumnado con Síndrome de Down, ya que da respuesta a sus necesidades educativas y evita
la exclusión, el abandono y fracaso escolar.
Debido a los obstáculos a lo que se enfrentan este colectivo, se adoptan una serie de medidas
para alcanzar la inclusión. Concretamente, este trabajo se centrará en el área de Educación
Física como una de las medidas de inclusión.
(EN) Down syndrome is a mental retardation caused by a genetic disorder due to the appearance of an extra chromosome in the pair 21, arises spontaneously and the cause is unknown. These people exhibit different physical characteristics and cognitive peculiar to the rest. Such persons must have the same opportunities as any other group, so they require tailored measures and specific training. This review aims to address the importance of lay inclusion in the education system for students with Down syndrome because it responds to their educational needs and avoid exclusion, abandonment and school failure. Because of the obstacles to what they face this group, a series of measures adopted to achieve inclusion. Specifically, this paper will focus on the area of physical education as one of inclusion measures
