[EN] This work has been written with the aim of clarifying who the Judicial Secretaries are and, on the other hand, making known their main powers during the process with competencies beyond the merely administrative and procedural ones, showing that according to the current procedural laws, they are an indispensable judicial figure in the existing legal framework and without whose intervention legal acts would become invalid. The successive procedural reforms, mainly from 2009, place them in an important pedestal in the Spanish judiciary, getting the most of their legal potential, fruitless until then, and letting them be known as highly qualified professionals who denote the path to development. The understanding of this figure reveals the assumed duties, the exercised competences and the authority conferred on them.
