Fostering pre-modification and post-modification in EFL Spanish learners at B1 CEFR level. A didactic proposal

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo de investigación está compuesto de dos secciones: una revisión bibliográfica y una unidad didáctica. En la primera sección, este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo estudiar la complejidad del sintagma nominal (SN) en estudiantes españoles con inglés como segunda lengua extranjera en el nivel B1 MCER. Una descripción del SN en cuanto a determinantes, pre-modificación y post-modificación será mostrada. También, la complejidad del uso del SN en aprendices nativos de inglés (L1) y aprendices no nativos de inglés (L2) será analizada. A continuación, se realizará un estudio científico del sintagma nominal en la escritura de estudiantes

de español con inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL) para conocer qué estructuras de pre-modificación y post- modificación fueron frecuentemente usadas en estudiantes de español con inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL).

En la segunda sección, una unidad didáctica será llevada a cabo para mejorar la pre-modificación y post-modificación en estudiantes de español en el nivel B1 MCER

[EN] This MA Dissertation is composed of two sections: a literature review and a didactic unit. In the first section, this MA Dissertation aims to study the complexity of the noun phrase (NP) in EFL Spanish

learners at B1 CEFR level. A description of the NP concerning determiners, pre-modification and post- modification will be shown. Also, the complexity of the NP use in L1 and L2 learners of English will be analysed.

Then, a learner corpus-based study of NPs in EFL Spanish learner writing will be done in order to know what structures of pre-modification and post-modification were frequently used by EFL Spanish learners.

In the second section, a didactic unit will be accomplished in order to enhance pre-modification and post- modification in EFL Spanish learners at B1 CEFR level.
