Resumen
[ES] El trabajo de fin de máster que se presenta a continuación tiene como objetivo examinar y determinar el rol del profesor de inglés como lengua extranjera en centros de educación secundaria. Se ha realizado una investigación con una muestra de 130 individuos, entre ellos, 5 profesores de inglés lengua extranjera y 125 estudiantes que cursan entre 1° y 4° de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria en tres centros públicos de Andalucía.
Para ello, se ha llevado a cabo una observación directa a cada grupo a lo largo de cuatro sesiones; así como también se han aplicado cuatro cuestionarios con preguntas cerradas, dos a los alumnos y otros dos a los profesores. El análisis exhaustivo de estos instrumentos de investigación ha permitido obtener conclusiones significativas.
[EN] The aim of this work is to examine and determine the role of the teacher in English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in secondary education high schools. In order to achieve it, an investigation has been carried out over a sample of 130 individuals, 5 EFL teachers and 125 students who are between 151 and 4th year of Compu lsory Secondary Education in three different state high schools. Thus, a direct observation of each group has taken place for four sessions as well as four closed-ended questionnaires were handed, two for students and two for teachers. The in-depth analysis of these tools for the research has allowed u s to achieve notable conclusions.
